Candidate can take two or three subjects on the same test date. Duration for each subject test is one hour. You can also give the SAT test and SAT Subject Test on the same day. If you're opting for Language with a listening test, then it will be the first test of the day, and you cannot switch listening test on a test day. You will also require CD players in Language with the listening test. The subject test can be given 6 times a year. It is an objective type as well as pen-paper based test.

The total duration of the exam is 3 hours, but if you are opting for Essay, then you will get 50 minutes extra time to write an Essay. No negative marking for incorrect answers, therefore there is no advantage of leaving any question blank. In SAT, the total score ranges from 400 to 1600. This score is the sum of Reading, Writing and Math section. Candidates need to score more than 1400 to increase your chances in the top 50 colleges.

The SAT score is calculated out of 2400 (from 600 to 2400). Subject wise score range is from 200-800, in which 200 is the minimum score, and 800 is the maximum score. The exam score is released after 3 weeks of conducting the exam. The colleges have different criteria, they will select candidates based on their scores.
