NCERT Solutions for Class 11 Economics Chapter 6 Rural Development

Rural development is the process of improving the quality of life and economic well-being of people living in rural areas, often relatively isolated and sparsely populated areas. Rural development has traditionally centred on the exploitation of land-intensive natural resources such as agriculture and forestry. In today’s scenario, rural development continues to be the core of the overall country’s development. It has become more than two-thirds of the country’s people is dependent on agriculture for their livelihood, and one-third of rural India is still below the poverty line. Therefore, the government needs to be productive and provide enough facility to upgrade their standard of living.
