RD Sharma Solutions for Class 11 Maths Chapter 10 Sine and cosine Formulae and their Applications

Many real-world applications involve oblique triangles, where the Sine and Cosine Laws can be used to find specific measurements. The Cosine Law is used to find a side, given an angle between the other two sides, or to find an angle given all three sides. For all other questions, the Sine Law can be used. Sine and cosine functions are used to find the location and distances in the GPS of the cell phone. In real life, sine and cosine functions can be used in space flight and polar coordinates, music, ballistic trajectories, and GPS and cell phones. Sine and cosine functions can be used to model many real-life scenarios – radio waves, tides, musical tones, electrical currents.
Sin Cos formulas are based on sides of the right-angled triangle. Sin and Cos are basic trigonometric functions along with tan function, in trigonometry. The sine of the angle is equal to the ratio of the opposite side and hypotenuse. In contrast, the cosine of an angle is equal to the ratio of the adjacent side and hypotenuse.
