NCERT Solutions for Class 8 Civics Chapter 5 Judiciary

The Judiciary is the system of courts that interprets and applies the law in the name of the state. The Judiciary can also be thought of as the mechanism for the resolution of disputes. In many jurisdictions, the judicial branch has the power to change laws through the process of judicial review. The courts apply the law, and settle disputes and punish law-breakers according to the law. Our judicial system is a crucial aspect of our democratic way of life. It upholds peace, order and good government. In a federal system, Judiciary has to perform an additionally important role as the guardian of the constitution and the arbiter of disputes between the centre and states.
