Children till their late teenage years have very impressionable minds. It is during these years they pick their social cues and behaviour from their surroundings. If from a very early age, we teach them the equality between genders, these boys and girls will grow up to be model citizens. There are different roles which are assigned to boys and girls to prepare them for their future roles as men and women. The roles women play and the work they do are usually valued less than the roles men play and the work they do. This chapter will also examine how inequalities between men and women emerge in the area of work.
