The process by which living organisms or Plant obtain nutrients is known as Nutrition. Nutrition can be defined as a process by which Plants or organisms take in the food and utilize it to survive. Plants do not have to obtain organic materials for their Nutrition, although these form the bulk of their tissues. By trapping solar energy in photosynthetic systems, they can synthesize nutrients from carbon dioxide (CO2) and water. The primary mode of Nutrition in plants is the autotrophic (auto = self; trophos. = nourishment) method of Nutrition. The plants have chlorophyll in their leaves which helps them to produce their own food.
