NCERT Solutions for Class 11 Physics Chapter 13 Kinetic Theory

Kinetic theory is the atomic description of gases as well as liquids and solids. It models the properties of matter in terms of continuous random motion of molecules. In a mixture of gases, each gas exerts a pressure equal to the total pressure times the fraction of the mixture that the gas makes up. Properties of gases are easier to understand than those of solids and liquids. All things are made of atoms – little particles that move around in perpetual motion, attracting each other when they are a little distance apart but repelling upon being squeezed into one another. Some key points of the kinetic theory of gases are given in this chapter.
